After several visits to Mallorca, I find the scenery perpetually inspiring. The captivating photos taken by Kellett never fail to ignite my desire to paint Colonia de Sant Jordi in Mallorca.

The inspiration for this piece came from the reverse side of the old Canadian $100 bill. Initially, I painted it as a mural in the charming dockside restaurant in Lunenburg. Later, two additional paintings were commissioned based on the same theme.

This artwork features antique Caithness glass, designed by Charles Orr. Inspired by an old magazine photo, I focused on the composition, the elegant vases, and the captivating reflections. The process of creating this piece taught me valuable lessons.

Flora’s radiant happiness was contagious, and I felt compelled to immortalize her in my art. The memories of that place and our friendship remain etched in my heart.
